Counselling Services

Individual counselling services are available virtually and free of charge to those that are eligible.

To access counselling services, please email the completed form to Brittany Clark-Wakefield at bcwakefield@csfs.org. Once received, the program clinician will contact you to schedule an intake session.

The intake session date is dependent on individual availability and program space.*

*Individuals within CSFS’s membered nations will receive priority of counselling services, however upon availability this program is free of charge to any 18+ individual within British Columbia.

 
 

Eligibility:

  • At this time, counselling services are only available to those that are 18 years old or older.

  • Counselling services are available to self-identified 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, as well as individuals exploring their gender and/or sexual identities.

  • Individual counselling services are also available to parents of 2SLGBTQ+ Youth who may need assistance learning how to support and uplift their child in relation to their gender and/or sexual identities.

  • Whether or not you identify as part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, if you are a partner, chosen family member, sibling, child (18+) etc. of a self-identified 2SLGBTQ+ individual, we are here to support you, and in turn, your 2SLGBTQ+ family member.

    Individual counselling services incorporate psychosocial education regarding 2SLGBTQ+ topics and issues to further develop the family member’s understanding of how to support the 2SLGBTQ+ individual. In addition, prioritize the wellbeing of the family member who may also be experiencing their own personal challenges.

    Our goal with offering counselling services to family members of 2SLGBTQ+ individuals is to provide wrap-around, holistic support for our 2SLGBTQ+ community members, meanwhile encourage acceptance and inclusivity.

  • Services are available to individuals who reside anywhere in the province of British Columbia, Canada.

  • Counselling services are available to community members who self-identify as Indigenous, Métis, and non-Indigenous. Please note, that Carrier Sekani and Indigenous community members will receive first priority accessing counselling services.

Monday to Friday; 8:30am - 4:30pm

Statutory holidays may affect these hours.
